
This year, within the framework of the Smart City Expo Latam Congress, the “Zero Waste” campaign is launched, a pioneering self-management program, carried out in collaboration with the Puebla exhibition center, which promotes waste reduction and resource-savings during the event.
TARGET GROUPS
Zero Waste is focused on engaging visitors to live the Smart Cities experience.
Our exhibitors will join in promoting good business practices and implementing eco-friendly design innovations.
As an organization, we will exhibit actions adding to those of the venue, and will develop some good new practices.
LINES OF ACTION

- The aim of this line is to replace the excessive use of printed advertising and media with new technological alternatives and digital tools that replace traditional materials.
- Using apps as a means of advertising communication.
- Limited use of stationery
- Avoid using tents and/or banners made from petroleum derivatives or other materials harmful to the environment
- Using QR codes or providing information to the attendee
- Using LED or low power consumption lighting.
- Unplugging your electronic devices when not in use.
- This action allows us to reuse the discarded goods or products and give them an equal or different use to the one for which they were designed.
- By implementing initiatives such as the use of light materials or recovered materials.
- Using recyclable materials for booths, or from sustainable sources.
- Reusing boxes or booth transport containers for other events.
- Reusing the same booth for next events.
- Using products and services that include basic sustainability guidelines or that show eco-labeling.
- Using regional, seasonal, reusable and/or recyclable gifts or promotional items .


- Action of collecting all types of materials for reuse, recycling or composting.
- Analyzing that products can be disposed of easily and have no environmental impacts
- Leftover materials such as office supplies, attendee gifts, pens, promotional materials and badges will be returned and reused. They will be donated to schools and other local institutions.
- There will be collection of organic waste, such as food, to make it into compost. Food in good conditions from restaurants will be donated to a food bank.
